Fund raising events are part of a community’s landscape. There are several local organizations that are near and dear to my heart and I will always post about these Basking Ridge fundraisers because often you will find me there!
The Liberty Corner Fire Company – I am very close to this organization as half of my family – my husband, my oldest daughter and my oldest son – are certified fire fighters. My husband currently holds a chief position. Many people don’t realize that the fire companies here in town are 100% volunteer. As such, a big part of the culture includes fund raising events. LCFC hosts a spaghetti dinner, two comedy nights and a coin toss event every year.
This weekend (12/8/19), the fire company is partnering with the Liberty Corner and Mt Prospect Schools’ PTO’s for an event with the Harlem Wizards. Tickets are available at the door: https://www.libertycornerpto.org/the-harlem-wizards-are-coming-to-town/ I hope to see you there!
The Team Campbell Foundation: TCF was started Robin and Greg Hoyt after they lost their daughter to cancer. One of TCF’s biggest initiatives is the Bereaved Parent Trip – TCF will send a couple on trip to reconnect after going through the battle and loss of a child to cancer. To fund these trips TCF holds an all-inclusive vacation raffle every year. The winner will receive a trip for two to a Bahia Principe Resort – all inclusive, airfare and a $500 visa gift card- a $6500 value. Tickets for the raffle are just $40. Greg Hoyt is a firefighter in neighboring Bernardsville and Robin is the center manager at The Max Challenge in Basking Ridge. Last year’s trip winner was a Liberty Corner Firefighter.
The Sunshine Kids – The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, they are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New Jersey Properties adopted The Sunshine Kids Foundation as a network-wide charity in the Spring of 1991. Since the inception of this SSK partnership, members of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New Jersey Properties community have taken an active approach in making a difference. A portion of every commission check is donated to this wonderful organization.
Do you see the trends here? … fire fighting, cancer, the max challenge, the local schools…these are all things that are near and dear to my heart and you will often find me at these Basking Ridge fundraisers. They make me ME.
